Clone Wars Season 7 Ep 6 "Deal No Deal" Review

Image
Like I speculated last time Ahsoka wasn't going to leave Trace and Rafa just yet but I didn't expect them to go to space let alone Kessel. This episode showcases some good relationship building between Ahsoka and the sisters. Ahsoka and Trace bonded over their shared knowledge of ships, with Trace sprinkling in some backstory for her and her sister. Rafa and Ahsoka on the other hand clashed throughout the episode due to Rafa's mistrust of anyone but her sister. Ahsoka really played into the sister dynamic and became like a third sister in a sense. This really made the episode very enjoyable despite the lack of action. The tension built up between the three characters while deciding on how to handle the spice was the biggest moment that really made me feel that Ahsoka fit in as the goody two shoes sister, with Rafa being the bad influence and Trace being the naive little sister. This episode also gave us some more world-building by showing a different si

Altered Carbon: Reseleeved

This animated movie of the Altered Carbon series is a prequel to the first season, set 1 year after the Envoys were wiped out and showing us how Tanaseda and Takeshi met. This movie would be considered an anime movie and the style used would be more akin to other anime than to western animated shows. For those that don't watch anime, this could be a huge detracting factor due to the radical difference in style and presentation between this movie and the live-action series. With a run time of around an hour and the fact that this is a prequel, it doesn't really matter if you watch this movie or not. It is not going to change your perspective of the series as a whole but it does flesh out the world of Altered Carbon a bit more and gives us a new style of presentation that most people can appreciate it. The animators really used the advantage of color that animation brings to really make the visuals on-screen pop, enhancing the action and the sci-fi feel. Followi

Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 5 "Gone with a Trace" Review

Image
This is the first episode focused on Ahsoka that we get this season and it didn't disappoint. Set right after Ahsoka left the Jedi Order, she finds herself at the depths of Coruscant where she meets a pilot/mechanic named Trace. After some loan shark tries to rough up Trace, we get to see Ahsoka back in action with her hand to hand combat skills. We then meet Trace's sister Rafa who seems to be a con artist that manipulates everyone including her sister in order to achieve her goals. The final half of the episode treats us the audience with a high speed chase around the underground of Coruscant which had Ahsoka demonstrate the ingenuity that we so missed these past years since we last saw her in action. I thought that this episode was good a set up for the new arc featuring Ahsoka and getting to see the underbelly of Coruscant is always a treat. Although the episode ends off with Ahsoka about to leave the depths of Coruscant, I'm pretty certain that she

Clone Wars Season 7 Ep 4 "Unfinished Business" Review

This episode of Clone Wars Concludes the battle for Annax and the four-episode arc with the Bad Batch and Echo. It was a banger of an episode show that had Mace Windu and Obi-wan lead a full frontal assault on a Separatist base while the party of Anakin, Echo, Rex and the Bad Batch went on an infiltration mission on Admiral Trench's ship. This episode was a good conclusion to this four episode arc and specifically let Anakin, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Echo have very good moments. We got to see Anakin stray further from the light side through his display of anger and ruthlessness of killing a defenseless Admiral Trench in cold blood without batting an eye. This is very cool because we're getting close to the events of Revenge of the Sith and more insight on how Anakin could just murder Count Dooku so easily. We also got good moments with Wrecker and Crosshair showing off their ability to destroy droids. Crosshair using small mirrors to bounce his blaster-fire cre

Paradise PD Part 2 Review

The second set up of episodes of Paradise PD is out and it even more disgusting than the first set of  episodes. This show is about a oddball of characters working at a small town police department.  Characters range from a hyper aggressive police woman, a perverted old man, a drug addicted  talking dog, a stereotypical fat guy, a loser and various other trope characters seen in shows like the  Simpson or Family Guy. I watched the first set of episodes awhile ago and I felt like the show was  over reliant on shock factor from gross things. I didn't think it could get grosser, but I was wrong.  They rely on grossness even more, half the time I absolutely disgusted by what was on screen  and it really took me out of the show. The way I would describe this show is that it's in the style of  American Dad while trying to be meta like South Park but ultimately it's writing is not even close to  South Park in terms of quality. In the end, the s

Clone Wars Season 7 Ep 3 "On The Wings of Keeradaks" Reveiw

This third episode of the Clone Wars takes place right at the moment Rex and Echo reunite. They find themselves trapped in the chamber Echo was kept in up till this point and are press for time to escape. This whole episode was a series of firefights culminating in a giant battle at the second half of this episode which involved swarms of droids and the native people of the planet who are convinced to fight with our party of characters. I was wondering about the Techno Unions weird design of droids, which we found a perfectly good reason as to why they looked the way they do. Turns out those extra limbs from their shoulders are fold-able wings, making them able to fly. Its good to see that the droids weird design had a purpose other than making them different from normal Separatists droids. The episode was enjoyable but I feel like that the first 3 episodes should be watched back to back instead of 3 different sittings, because this is clearly a three-episode arc an

Castlevania Season 3 Review

Image
The third season of the animated adaption of the beloved Castlevania games is here and it is as amazing as the first two seasons, but this time there are 10 episodes instead of 4. Taking place a few months after the last season, we as an audience get to see the aftermath of Dracula's death and what various characters such as Alucard, Trevor, Sypha, Isaac, and Hector are doing. This season is very much a season about world-building and setting up for the future of the series rather than a goal- driven story like the first two seasons. The show is as brutal as ever with the action and scenery, while also having a lot more time for character development.  We are introduced to many more fantastic characters that really get their time to shine and develop as full-fledged characters unlike. Every new character introduced either expanded the lore of the world or helped develop existing characters or sometimes both. The vampire sisters of Carmilla added this great sibli

Altered Carbon Season 2 Review

Season 2 of Altered Carbon takes place thirty years after the first season, with Takeshi Kovacs still on his desperate search for his former lover, Quellcrist Falconer. Takeshi finds himself back at Harlan's World in a military sleeve(Anthony Mackie), on the run for a murder he didn't commit which leads him down a complex conspiracy that somehow involves his former lover Quell. This season in terms of action has it in spades and it's awesome to see Anthony Mackie go all out in this lead role. I thought that Anthony fit perfectly with the role and didn't miss a beat playing as Takeshi and if this is a preview of what he can offer in a TV series, we're in for a treat for Falcon and Winter Soldier. Poe, the charming AI that we got to know in the first season is back with his own interesting storyline that really grabs the audience in the heartstrings. Hands down, he was my favorite character of this season due to the arc he was given. Besides Poe, I t
