Dragon's Dogma Review

Image
Dragon's Dogma an animated series based off Capcom's game of the same name just dropped on  Netflix a couple of days ago at the moment I'm writing this review. Despite being based on the game, I  believe it is telling an original story using the lore and universe of the game series, although I have not  played the games so I can't completely confirm this but I'm pretty sure its an original story. I think the  best part of this series is the theme of the seven deadly sins and human nature, which they also used to  structure the series, like how there are 7 episodes, with each episode focused on one particular sin. Each  episode also features a particular unique monster or creature that changes up the type of action we get,  making every episode fairly fresh and easy to binge. The basic premise of Dragon's Dogma is that a  man named Ethan, who is living a normal village life with his wife and unborn child until one day he  loses everything including his heart when

Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against The Universe Review

Image
Its been over 5 years since the last episode of Phineas and Ferb, but with the release of "Candace  Against The Universe" we are able to see most of our beloved characters from the series again.  Unfortunately despite being set in space, Meep does not make an appearance but we get to see the whole Danville gang teaming up with Dr. Doofenshmirtz to save both Vanessa and Candace from  rogue aliens. Of course everyone's favorite platypus, Perry is helping from the shadows. Just as the title accentuates, Candace is the main star of the show, this movie really dives deep into her as a character and gives her a lot of character development. Specially it focuses on her obsession with busting her  brothers and the driving force behind that. This turns out to be an insecurity with not being special and  that she believes her brothers completely overshadow her. The relationship between Candace and her brothers is one of the most heartwarming sibling relationships in animation, in

The One and Only Ivan Review

Image
"The One and Only Ivan" is a Disney Plus movie that most people have probably looked over due to it  being a film with realistic CGI talking animals. The cast features Bryan Cranston as Mack the adopted  father and keeper of the one and only Ivan who is a special silverback gorilla with a unique artistic  talent voiced by Sam Rockwell. Among the cast is Angelina Jolie who plays a key supporting  character, Stella the wise old elephant. The movie starts off by showing off each individual animal at  the circus including Ivan. Unfortunately, it looks like over the years people have lost interest in the  circus causing Mack to get a new animal for the circus. This is when the baby elephant Ruby is brought  into the circus, who instantly steals the thunder from Ivan who use to be the main headliner of the  circus show. Naturally Stella is the one that takes care of Ruby in her first few weeks but not long after  Stella passes away but not before getting Ivan to promise her to brin

Glitch Techs Season 2 Review

Image
Glitch Techs is awesome and I couldn't praise it enough. If you haven't watched the series yet, go watch  it now. Regardless, before you read any further, spoilers await you if you haven't watched season 2 of  Glitch Techs. Season 2 of Glitch Techs is an improvement in all aspects besides the environments and   diversity of settings, this is disappointing considering that the first season had the most amazing  game inspired environments such as the Castlevania dungeon and Dragon Quest inspired location.  Besides that the animation is cleaner, the writing is better and more character-focused. This season gave a lot of development to Five, Miko, Mitch Williams, and Phil. It also introduced a new character that is fairly important in terms of fleshing out the world of Glitch Techs. This character is an illegal  modder named Ridley who introduces the concept of hacking Hanobi tech and creating their own  glitches which will surely be important for future Glitch Tech seasons. Be

Wizards: Tales of Arcadia Review

Image
Wizards is the third series in the Tales of Arcadia Universe and it focuses on specifically the magical  side of the world. Specifically, this series has Merlin's apprentice Hisirdoux otherwise known as  Douxie as the main character. This series takes place right after the events of the second series in the  Tales of Arcadia Universe: 3Below thus all events in the previous two series are connected. A majority  of the series is a time travel story where Douxie, Claire, Steve, and Jim find themselves sent 900 years  into the past where Camelot once was which coincidentally is where Arcadia is in the present. It was  very interesting to see the strained relationship that humans and trolls found themselves in where  Arthur was on a crusade to kill all trolls. But ultimately, the most important relationships are between  Douxie & Merlin, Merlin & Morgana, and Morgana & Arthur. They are the most engaging and  prominent driving factors for the story. Despite all the Tales of

Transformers: War For Cybertron (Chapter 1: Siege) Review

Image
Transformers War For Cybertron Chapter 1: Siege, is the newest animated show of the Transformers  IP that is on Netflix. The first part of a trilogy that consists of 6 episodes is attempting to retell the  origin story of the war between Autobots and Decepticons. Taking place on the homeworld of all  Transformers, Cybertron, we are first introduced to a very different version of Bumblebee that we are  familiar with from the live-action movies. Talking normally unlike his movie counterpart and not yet  an Autobot, this Bumblebee is an Energon scavenger that is only looking out for himself as the War  rages on between the Autobots and Decepticons. These 6 episodes set up a lot of plot points for the rest  of the trilogy and give great depictions of your favorite transformers like Star-Scream, Shockwave,  Bumblebee, Megatron, and of course Optimus. We are given more context and detail for the  relationship between Optimus and Megatron which makes them more complex than just enemies.  We

Umbrella Academy Season 2 Review

Image
This season of Umbrella Academy was crazier and wilder than the first, especially the final episode.  This time Five and gang are sent back scattered across 1960-1963 Dallas. The opening sequence of this  season shows a nuclear war happening during 1963 only for Five to be saved by Hazel who is  unfortunately gunned down by commission muscle known as the Swedes, three Swedish brothers. With  10 days left to a nuclear apocalypse, Five has to find the rest of his family who has been scattered  across Dallas over the span of three years. Of course, things aren't as simple as just reuniting together,  all of the Umbrella Academy besides Five and Diego has started new lives and relationships that they  can't bring themselves to just abandon. Diego stuck in a loony bin for the first episode is still dealing  with his daddy issues from the first episode and still fixated on being a hero. This season managed to  give every person from the Umbrella Academy a decent story arc and unlike
