Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 5 "Gone with a Trace" Review
This is the first episode focused on Ahsoka that we get this season and it didn't disappoint. Set right
after Ahsoka left the Jedi Order, she finds herself at the depths of Coruscant where she meets a
pilot/mechanic named Trace. After some loan shark tries to rough up Trace, we get to see Ahsoka
back in action with her hand to hand combat skills. We then meet Trace's sister Rafa who seems to be
a con artist that manipulates everyone including her sister in order to achieve her goals. The final
half of the episode treats us the audience with a high speed chase around the underground of
Coruscant which had Ahsoka demonstrate the ingenuity that we so missed these past years since we
last saw her in action. I thought that this episode was good a set up for the new arc featuring Ahsoka
and getting to see the underbelly of Coruscant is always a treat. Although the episode ends off with
Ahsoka about to leave the depths of Coruscant, I'm pretty certain that she'll end up staying for some
reason and we will get to see the development of not only Ahsoka but the new characters Trace and
Rafa. Trace seems to be a likable character that bounces off Ahsoka well as she plays the role of a
friend and someone that Ahsoka can mentor. This episode also sets up the conflict that will
certainly spring up between Ahsoka and Rafa due to their conflicting perspectives of morality.
Overall I'm very excited to see Ahsoka again and I'm very pleased with how things were set up for
future episodes. In terms of enjoyments I would this episode 8 out of 10 and I'm looking forward for
this arc focused on Ahsoka and the clashing perspectives of those living in the underbelly of
Coruscant and with those of Ahsoka who has only known Coruscant from above.
