Clone Wars Season 7 Ep 10 " Phantom Apprentice" Review

Image
My god, this episode was as glorious if not even cooler than the last episode and I thought last episode was one of the best episodes of the whole series. Holy shit, the amount of fluid integration of this episode into the events of the Revenge of the Sith was mind-blowing. It was expected that there was going to be cross over between this arc and Revenge of the Sith but seeing it first hand is another matter entirely. This episode starts with Ahsoka fighting off Maul with the help of Rex and but not before Maul drops Darth Sidious's name. Right after this, we cut into a meeting between Ahsoka, Rex, Bo Katan, and Obi-Wan where we get the bombshell that Count Dooku is dead. This immediately tells us that while Ahsoka was dealing with Maul, the opening sequence of Revenge of the Sith where Anakin and Obi-Wan fight Dooku has already happened. Putting this episode's events in sync with Revenge of the Sith officially. We also learn that at this moment Obi-Wan is ab

The Willoughbys Review

Image
The Willoughbys is a Netflix original animated movie that is a coming of age story about the Willoughby children; Tim, Jane, and twin brothers both named Barnaby who has negligent parents that only have enough love for each other. The Willoughby children are basically orphans with the way their parents neglect and ignore them, this becomes even more true when they decide to orphan themselves by sending their parents on a deadly holiday that they may not return from in order to gain the freedom they never had before. Things take an unexpected turn when the Willoughby children meet their nanny hired by their parents who ends up being a very caring person luckily. The nanny, Linda is not initially accepted by Tim after all the hardships he had to deal with  and had trouble trusting Linda at first until she helps them prevent their house from being sold off by their parents. Unfortunately, Tim made a horrible mistake that separates the Willoughby children from each othe

The Midnight Gospel Review

Image
After working on Adventure Time for almost a decade, Pendleton Ward has created a new show that has no filter on Netflix. If you thought Adventure Time felt like an acid trip than The Midnight Gospel is an overdose on cocaine and heroin. This show is not your typical animated show and it is not for everyone. It's a very episodic show that doesn't really have any overarching plot that connects the episodes. The show follows Clancy who is the creator of essentially a podcast called the Midnight Gospel where he interviews guests that he meets throughout his trip through simulated worlds. The way the show presents itself is pretty wacky because you would have very normal calm philosophical discussions regarding real-life topics like drugs, death and personal experiences while on-screen crazy stuff is happening like people being rip to shreds by hordes of zombies or an uprising is taking place. This contrast from audio and what's happening on screen is probab

The Last Kids On Earth: Season 1 & 2 Netflix Review

Image
Based on an ongoing series of books by Max Brallier, The Last Kids On Earth is an animated show about four teenagers living in a post-apocalyptic version of our current world. Currently the show has two seasons with the second season just released at the time I'm writing this review. The first season of the show is a bit weird because it just consists of one episode that is 67 minutes long. The episode follows Jack one of the main protagonist of the series who finds himself abandoned by his family as portals from the sky unleash hordes of monsters and a zombie plague. This episode shows Jack's life before the apocalypse and the sudden zombie outbreak that soon follows which is a blessing in disguise for Jack who never felt like he fit in with normal society. The zombies are only the initial problem as Jack encounters creatures that are far more threatening than slow-moving undead. The most deadly creature being Blarg who is a fast and deadly monster that is th

Clone Wars Season 7 Ep 9 "Old Friends Not Forgotten" Review

Image
Episode 9 of the final season of Clone Wars, kicks off the Siege of Mandalore with a bang. The beginning of the episode really showed how powerful Anakin has become in the force, striding confidently in of front of thousands of droids ignoring the ongoing blaster fire like it was impossible for them to hit him. This show of strength was made more apparent by the fact that a minute earlier Obi-Wan was forced to retreat into cover due to the ongoing fire from the droids. This opening action sequence really demonstrates the power Anakin possesses going into this final arc and Revenge of The Sith. The rest of the first half of the episode reunites Ahsoka with the 501st, Obi-Wan and Anakin. It also sets up the beginning events of the Revenge of The Sith, where Palpatine is "kidnapped" and the Siege of Mandalore. The reunion was awfully short but it was great seeing Ahsoka interacting with the 501st and Anakin again.  The second half of the episode was an inc

Clone Wars Season 7 Ep 8 "Together Again" Review

Image
Episode 8 of this final season of Clone Wars was the conclusion of this current arc with Ahsoka but it set up a lot of things for the final arc of the series. This episode saw Ahsoka tricking the Pike to letting Trace and Rafa go while she was left behind. With the threat of revealing herself as a Jedi gone, Ahsoka was able to enact a plan that saw to destroy the Pikes base while also create an opportunity to escape. During this episode it was revealed that Maul was in control of the Pikes and most of the criminal underground. This revelation really connects this arc with the final where we will see the Siege of Mandalore and Order 66 from Ahsoka's perspective. All of these connections really made this arc way better than the Bad Batch arc which really didn't connect at all to the final arc of this series besides showing a little bit of Anakin giving into his anger and emotions. Action wise, it was not as great as the previous episode but overall I reall

Clone Wars Season 7 Ep 7 "Dangerous Debt" Review

Image
Episode 7 of season 7 of The Clone Wars was very dark and real. We got to hear the actual tragic backstory of Trace and Rafa that involved the Jedi and their parents' deaths. The rest of the episode was an action-packed prison break out that brought out Ahsoka's quick thinking and hand to hand combat skills with some great moments with Trace too. Ahsoka still hiding her true identity as a former Jedi from the sisters had to use her force abilities in discreet ways in order to conceal her true abilities. This, in a sense, handicapped her and coupled the fact that she doesn't have her lightsabers anymore made it more believable why they were ultimately unable to escape from the Pikes at the end of the episode. Having seen Ahsoka evade capture from the Republic and the Jedi while she was framed by Barriss Offee, it wouldn't have been believable that she couldn't evade the Pikes if she wasn't handicapped as such. This episode also teases how ultima
